For all sizes of pets

Anti-Plaque & Anti-Tartar

Extra Cleaning Power

The Beaphar Toothbrush, in combination with Beaphar Toothpaste, offers cost-effective, easy to use protection for your pet's teeth. Early plaque formation must be brushed away in order to prevent bad breath and tooth decay.

This two-ended brush can be used for all sizes and breeds of cats and dogs. The handy soft grip makes sure the brush does not slip through your hands and it is specially designed to suit the shape of your pet's teeth. Different length bristles help you to reach all the teeth. Additionally, the bristles are soft and flexible for optimal gum protection.

Why brush?

Regular care of your pet's teeth will prevent problems developing, and reduce the need for expensive veterinary treatment. The main cause of dental problems is giving pets food that is meant for human consumption. These 'treats' often contain sugars that are harmful to pet's teeth. However, if you feed your pet on wet food, dental care is also important as this kind of food can stick to the teeth, and, without regular brushing, can cause problems.

Preparation

Directions:
The brush should be wetted before use and a little Beaphar Toothpaste applied to the bristles. Gently brush all the teeth until they are clean. Brushing removes food particles and reduces bacteria. It may take a while, and some patience, for your pet to get used to regular dental care. Oral hygiene can be regarded as part of grooming and should be carried out daily for maximum benefit. Replace the toothbrush after 3 months or sooner if the brush looks worn.

1 Begin by lifting the pet's lips to expose the teeth. Reinforce this by giving them lots of fuss and praise.
2 Once the pet is used to having their mouth touched on the outside, start running your finger along their teeth.
3 Once they are accustomed to having the inside of their mouth touched, introduce them to a toothbrush and toothpaste in a similar way. Start by squeezing a small amount of Toothpaste onto your finger and letting them lick it off (Beaphar Toothpaste is liver flavoured so most cats and dogs love it).
4 Once they are used to the taste of the toothpaste, introduce the toothbrush by letting them lick the toothpaste off it.
5 When they are comfortable with this, it is time to combine all the elements of training; brush a few teeth at first and gradually build up until all the teeth can be brushed.

Warning:
Not for human use. Keep out of reach of children. Do not permit your pet to chew on the brush. Avoid using human toothpaste with pets as it contains foaming agents and may irritate their stomachs.
